PeaceGold, led by Greg Valerio, is a Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) artisanal gold mining initiative over 10 years in the making. We invite you to a virtual gathering on April 25th to share the progression of this initiative and opportunities for involvement.
Unlike other projects, it represents a genuinely creative and contextual way of moving our movement of concerned jewellers forward as we seek to decolonise our history and forge a new path of equitable trade with our artisan mining partners. Gold is mined by artisanal and small-scale mining communities around the world every day. Still, there are limited opportunities for jewellers to both know exactly where their gold originates and to be an integral part of gold value chains that go far beyond the transaction of a gold purchase.
Community needs to be at the heart of the Fair Luxury movement. Gathering together can inspire conversations and precipitate change. We look forward to seeing you at an online or in person event soon!
